Default New owner First Problem

When I picked up my new 2005 Roadster I had to play the steering wheel for a couple of minutes in order to turn the ignition key. I had that same problem every time unless I turned off the ignition and left the key in. Leaving my business on Friday after 15 min. of trying, the dealer was going to send me a tow. I tried again later and avoided that and drove it in to be repaired. Seems this is a common problem that started back in 2004 and is also common to some Mercedes models. The complete unit looks the same based on a couple of videos. There is a PDF file if you are a do it yourself person. Easy to find if you search for Crossfire ignition problems on Google.

According to the forums this is common at around 39,000 miles, la little sooner for me at 35000 miles. The post say that if you have trouble turning the key you should possibly have it checked out as you could be stranded as I was. Some totally lock up. So far I have a total of 75 miles since drive out. May be ready for pick up tonight for some crusiN' tomorrow.

Next I have a question on some sort of a tool pointed tip that is mentioned in the owners manual. I do not have it. Should I try and purchase one.
