Actually I went with what look aesthetically pleasing to my eye, so crooked must be what I like.
I might also have to do with the grille not being perpendicular with the ground, and be leveling to the ground (by eye). Maybe it is, maybe it isn't.
I had the same problem when I replaced my faded rear badge w/ the larger 06' version. I placed it with perfectly spaced measurement to the edge of hatch and letters, but because of the curve of the hatch it appears just slightly off.
