Car Show Experience
I finally got the car back on the road last week after finishing up a few projects over the past few months; so far so good. Just in time for the Houston GTG this weekend!
I just finished detailing the car as well with a clay bar treatment, stain remover, polish application and wax (I definitely need to invest in a buffer) and also dressed up the engine bay a little.
Since there was a classic car show this weekend and great weather, I decided to bring the car out there to show it off. I was very surprised with the high level of attention the car received; not that it does not deserve it! Some of the comments were - very unique, sleek, awesome, and what is it?(haha – forgot that when you open the back hatch there is no name on the car to tell you what it is). The 90 degree vertical hood opening was a big hit as well. A Crossfire owner came by and we talked about his Crossfire (NA Convertible) and some of the issues he was having. I pointed him to this site and provided him a few pointers. We were able to trade contact information as well. All in all, a fun time at the show!
On a side note, if you have a 4 year old nephew and he wants sit in the car, be ready to reset all of the buttons and dials. I went to leave the show and as I start the car, the windshield wipers come on, the blinker is doing its thing, the transmission setting is in W instead of S, the emergency brake was set, and so on.
Surprisingly, I did not see any GTO’s there.
