You should clear any codes even though the light is off as they will check for any codes stored and that would mean a fail I think.
I cleared the codes, took the car for the recheck and it failed. Was told that it failed because the car had not rechecked its self. I drove the car for 50 miles at 65 mph with my gas tank 3/4 full. It finally passed the test.
