Default Re: Downloadable NAV CDs

Just FYI, I was able to successfully download and burn copies of both East and West discs, after clicking on the links provided in the forum - so I can confirm that as of last week at least, they both worked!

I'm 99.9% positive there's going to be no way to obtain versions of these with updated map data though.... That's becoming a real problem with many GPS units today.

I owned a couple of stand-alone Navigon branded units, for example, and finally got rid of both because Navigon decided to pull out of the U.S. market except for selling an iOS app for the iPhone. They quit updating the maps for all the stand-alone products.

My last in-dash stereo in my Jeep was a double-DIN JVC that I liked a lot... built-in HD radio and downloaded traffic info automatically, etc. etc. But once again, no evidence of any possible map updates for it! If you called JVC about it, they said to call NavTeq, and NavTeq would tell you they had nothing because it was up to JVC to pay them to do an upgrade for it.
