I just installed access panel doors into the left and right side trunk liners of my roadster to facilitate future access to the taillights. Thought I would share my experience here.

First, after a bit of research, I chose an access door panel from an Audi A8 trunk liner (usually available on E-Bay for $15.00 to $20.00 . . . search "Audi A8 access"). I bought mine from E-Bay seller b_and_m_european_recyclers . . . I offered them $15.00 apiece with free shipping and they accepted that offer.

Then remove the left and right trunk liner panels (yes this is a pain in the A$$ but it is the last time you'll ever have to do it. Cut an appropriate size hole in the trunk liner panel NOTE: The hole should be cut about 1/8" SMALLER than the perimeter of the access door panel!) You can trace the perimeter of the access panel door on the backside of your trunk liner (ignore the tab and just trace your line straight down as though the tab was not there. Then use an exacto knife to cut the hole SMALLER THAN the traced outline. Remember, DO NOT cut out the "tab" area for the access door. Just make a straight cut (kind of ignoring the tab) and then you'll just need to go back and notch out an area to accommodate the tab on the access door. Not rocket science . . . measure twice / cut once!

The whole modification took about two hours . . . slowed because I followed the "measure twice, cut once" rule and I tend to have alot of "looking time" when I do a project.
