I literally just got out of the Chrysler dealership and was told the same about the switch off rattle.... its the thrust bearing.... as you say....
Re the cam noise... its gone... and the same suggestion you made...
Some crud that will likely go away too...
Mine is a.manual transmission... and I was told thet these boxes are made of cheese.... expect problems beyond 40k......
Not encouraging..... especially as id expect its impossible to get an auto box to talk to the computer let alone fit ???
The Chrysler guy did say that these engines are bomb proof.... keep it lubed and itll keep working forever :-)
Thats what i like to hear...
Big smiles now.....
Im still trying to find an after market noisier exhaust in the South of England.... any one know where for one ???
Thanks and regards

QUOTE=MoparFreak69;682482]Is your xf a manual equipped car? Mine rattles a bit when I shut it off, this is due to the springs in the clutch. Nothing to worry about.
As far as a tick up high, probably a lifter problem. A tick at first start up, but goes away within a few seconds is not a big deal on an engine with some milage on it. If it continues to tick then you probably got a spec of crud in one of the lifters that is blocking off the supply hole for the oil. It may or may not work itself out.[/QUOTE]
