Default Chrysler Badge

A little trivia for those interested in such things.
Walter Chrysler, in 1923 when he took over Maxwell Motors, was of the opinion that people purchasing his vehicles would be from a farming background.
The red and gold "ribbon seal" centre of the badge was chosen because of the similarity to the awards made to prize cattle.
Lightning flashes and stylized wheels were added to represent speed.
The wings are said to represent the wings of Mercury.
This badge was not used after the mid-1950's but was resurrected by Tim Adams, president Chrysler Europe, in 1998.

Regards,
Ausfire.
