It is one of those features you go without for years and never think of it when driving at night, but as soon as you drive a car with the auto-dimming mirrors (I feel most notably, one with the side mirror dimmers), it is impossible to get used to it. Easily remedied, I bought a batch of 3 auto-dimming 2004 crossfire mirrors last year from a recycler listed on
Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market
I installed one, traded maxchicon #2 and sold #3 to a guy in NJ for the $25 I paid + shipping .....
As to the outside mirrors, it would be nice if there was some way to retrofit auto-dimmers, but I can't think of any ......
