I would love to get some repairing ideas on the grey vinyl in the center consol and dash.

In the center consol there hasn't been any particular incidents that could cause it to peal off and to chip as badly as it is. Also in the glove compartment area (must admit I've had some help from shoe hills in that area) but either way I would appreciate any suggestions and does any one else have this problem?
