Default Re: Official Tire Review Thread

I just put a set of these Nexen N7000 tires on the rear of my Crossfire in 245-35-19. Unfortunately, they don't make it in a 255, but they do in a 265. Not having a lot of cash to plunk down on expensive tires, I tried to get tires as cheap but as high quality as I can, and in all season guise as well. Not an easy task. I found these online, looked at the great reviews they got and decided to give them a shot. They were $130 apeice from WalMart.com. $130!!!!!! The problem is WalMart would not install them as they were 1. not the size of tire that came with the car, and 2. did not have a machine capable of low profile installs. That sucked. Anyway, I took them to the shop where I was getting my alignment done and they gave me the TireRack price to install them. Sweet.

I just got them and after almost 1000 mostly highway miles, they seem to be just as advertised. They are WHISPER quiet and very smooth, something I was not used to since the factory Conti all seasons were new, and the two sets of different Goodyears were always a bit stiff and noisy due to the large tread blocks. As you can see, these have small tread blocks, so they should be less prone to noise when they get worn in. I'm impressed so far, and if they last even half of the 40k rating on them, they are so inexpensive that they are worth it just to put another set on.
