After discussing this for the lat day or so I had to dig out the LaserDisc and watch it again. Man, what an amazing combination: Mark Knopfler (from "Dire Straits") doing a stylized version of "Once Upon a Time in the West", a 14,000 RPM indy car, Mario Andretti, and an Imax camera... If any of you get the film on DVD, watch the center of the Driver's steering wheel during the scenes at Homestead speedway and you can see the car's speedometer registering 200+ mph. It's truly amazing.
