Re: New Top For Roadster
I was just wondering about the circumstances of your deal w them. Seems few are treated alike.
I am well aware of the recall, in fact Chrysler paid me 300 towards stitching a new plastic rear window in, which the best top shop in town had initially said they would do but later refused to touch it for a few reasons. Lack of a successful conclusion was their biggest fear.
I bought a used 05 Roadster that had the rear window absolutely butchered by some "custom" shop in Dallas. I flew in to buy the car and was surprised by the condition of the window which despite excellent photos was not visible, but the underlying car was fantastic and the price was right.
I've been doing upholstery & interiors for many years, so I bought the car anyway and have been very happy w it. I have done some work on it but the window is a real ten footer at least as far as appearance.
I thank Chrysler for helping me, and yes it should have been a full top, but given the circumstances I can't complain. Its been over a year now and we love the car. I'll be buying a new top soon and am now wondering if I want to install it myself or hand it over to some other butcher.
