I just received word from my Case Mgr at Chrysler that they are approving the replacement of my top and that they will be in touch this afternoon to tell me the details and whether or not there will be a "deductable". Does anyone have info on how they determine what that "deductbale" is for and how it is determined? I agreee with the posts here that it is a rip off to be charged anything in this instance, but also agree that in the end if I have to pay $500 then its better that a few grand for a whole new top. That said, I spoke to the Svc Mgr at my dealer and they stated that they have nothing to do with determining the "deductable" but that it might be based on time or mileage past warrantly expiration...sounds wishy washy to me.
Anyone have any thoughts or infor on how this fee is determined?
Thanks!
C
I took the approach of taking my case to the TOP at the dealership where I purchased my 2005 Blue Crossfire LTD Roadster. I wrote a letter to the President of the Dealership and appealed to him to negotiate on my behalf and to use all of his clout with Chrysler to convince them to make good on the top even though my VIN did not originate in one of the covered states on their list. End result... you probably know by now. New top, new locking mechanism, free loaner vehicle, free pick up and delivery, absolutely NO CHARGE!
Good luck,
