2004 Crossfire Vibration
Hi,
Firstly I am new to this forum so apologies if I am posting this in the wrong place!
I have owned a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire (Auto) for over a year and for the last month it has developed a loud vibration when the car is going at around 30-40 MPH (Or between 1000 - 2000 RPM). The vibration is reduced greatly when I manually change the gears. It has also stalled a couple of times when slowing down to stop at a junction. Its been in the garage a couple of times and nobody seems to be certain of what is causing the issue however there doesn't seem to be any Chrysler specialists in the Newcastle area (Unless someone knows otherwise?). The latest diagnosis is that there is something wrong with the gear box and it may need replacing but the estimated cost is around £2k.
I was wondering if anyone else has come across this issue and if so could they give me some advice? Also can anyone recommend somewhere that may be able to supply a replacement gearbox at a decent price if this is likely to be causing the problem? I have read that this can be caused by a faulty Transmission Module or Solenoid but there doesn't seem to be a definite answer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as the wife and I both love this car and would hate to have to get rid of it!
Thanks in advance.
Darren
