I changed my oil this weekend too-I got at least 6 quarts in the drain pan and only 2.5 on the effing floor. My neighbors were most impressed with my knowledge of foreign cuss words.

The oil will have NO effect on the cambric varnish. If it did, every flap-fender'ed peat burner in Alabama would be on the side of the road.

If you NEVER clean your engine bay you would end up with-oily grit in the alternator!
