How many miles is a clutch good for in the manual gearbox please ? Mine has covered 76000 miles , its a bit stiff to get first gear and reverse gear , although once on the move the gear change is ok ish , but just recently i was going fast and changed from second up to third and crunched the gears but at lower speeds its still feels a little stiff.

I was considering visiting Mr.Clutch as they do a free test , but there bound to say it needs a new clutch even if it does'nt.

I am in Portsmouth is there anyone reputable i could take it to for an honest opinion ? Prefer a fellow crossfire expert / mechanic !!

Has anyone had a clutch change on a manual car if so how much was it please.

I am just assuming its the clutch but could be something different.
