I've fairly recently (about 3 months ago) also bought a Crossfire and my only previous insurance was on bikes. Insurance companies are not interested in bike history soI was pretty much starting from scratch (I also have a company car that I had a small fault claim in last year). Like you I started looking at all the comparison sites and Admiral came out best on a couple of these sites. So I looked closer at the detail and I had a question about the Personal Injury Insurance they were including. Anyway while chatting to the guy on the phone I asked if I was entitled to an introductory NCB as I had been a named driver on my wife's policy with Diamond (Diamond is a sister company to Admiral) so he looked into it and to my surprise said I could have three years! I then haggled about some other stuff and ended up with a quote I was happy to pay and reduced my wife's premium at the same time.
So what was my premium? Well remember I have a SRT and the history previously mentioned. £560.00!
Not cheap but the cars worth it. But don't get me started on the ridiculous £460 Road Tax
