crankshaft position sensor again!
okay folks i need your help. Friday i came home from the bank, everything was running great. Went out to drive to the gas station car would not start. starter was turning over but car not starting.
an hour later i went out and it fired right up. engine light was on. Got out my trusty code reader and got the code for crankshaft position sensor.
i then came to the forum and after reading several threads decided that it was definitely the CPS.
Got the part, skinned up my hands pretty good getting it put on ( why do they make it so hard to get to)
started the car right up. Drove to walmart. On the way home i got a call so i pulled over to take the call. I am sitting there and the car dies and i hear a fuse pop. Could not start the car up. I left it overnight since it was just a mile from home in a well lit lot. I just went back and it fired right up and i drove it home. Only problem was the air conditioner is not working,. I am assuming that was the fuse i heard pop. Engine light was on so i pulled out the code reader and again the the CPS code.
any ideas? Could it be that i just got a bad sensor and the air conditioner fuse popping was just a coincidence or is this pointing to possibly a more serious electrical problem?
