TPMS sensors have lithium batteries that die too. The TPMS sensors may start to work when the tires and batteries warm up on a cold day. They will completely die in a few months.

I'm in PA and still have my original Varta battery with no gremlins in my daily driver. The car was built in January 2004. Any one think I can make it through January with a 9 year old battery? I'm not optimistic, but am going to give it a try.
