That happened to me also, the doors went up and down until I got it right. I used the button on the door opener and had to get down the ladder real quick to push the button in the car. I suggest you use another person to help out. My door opener is also from Sears (Craftsman). I even tried to program all three buttons, so I wouldn't have to search. Only one works. I had to reprogram my remotes, the key pad and the main door button in the garage.
