Default Re: BEGi Turbo Kit information/discussion thread

Well I pulled the plug, enough is enough.
I E-mailed Begi Monday night asking for my Deposit back. Haven't heard back from them yet. Stated that it has gone on far to long. I minded my manners because I didn't want to give them a excuse to bail out and send Crossfire 1 home with a turbo in the trunk.
It's not just the wait, nor the bogus updates, but also being taken down the less than truthful path. We had input to begin with and he has taken this turbo design down his own road. I know nothing was written in stone, but I did think our input was important as we were the customer. I think this kit is junk.
The pipe going under the crossmember, I just don't like that. The way the pipe enters the Engine compartment, dumb. The plastic MAF looks like crap. The steel pipes are what finished me, they will rust, I don't care how well they are coated on the outside, they will rust from the inside out. All of this will take place AFTER your air filter. I live in a high humidity area putting lots of moisture into it. Moisture and steel = rust. That rust will have to go somewhere, on the cold air side it will be pushed through your intercooler ,through your air sensor, through the throttle body and into the motor. Rust is corrosive and abrasive. On the hot side, it will be pushed onto your turbo blades, into the exhaust system and some of it out the tailpipe. Even the cheapest kit on Ebay hasn't got steel. Preferred method Stainless steel and aluminum. This project has a lot of pipe to rust.
This kit would have ended up around $4500.00 with shipping and duty, only to end up spending a lot of money modifying it before it went in my car. I prefer only clean air and clean oil in my car, hence air filters and oil catch cans. This rust will not happen overnight but it will happen, those living in dryer climates will have to wait a bit longer for the rust to arrive. It will.
In the New Year, I will be starting my own turbo, with stainless steel. Any input to help me along the way is always welcome.
Tried the turbo leafblower with good success, and a helpful member pointed me in the direction of the electric turbo, that won't work out either. You can skip further info about these options but open to all other info. It's been a slice.
