I apologize in advance if this is a re-post. I decided to take out/clean the stock air assemblies only to discover that the airboxes looked the same as my backyard with leaves and crap saturating both boxes. I took them out completely and washed them in and out. Then I got a bit curious when I saw what appeared to be a baffle on both of the intake pipes. At first I didn't want to open them up as they were slightly glued but then I figured I'll be getting a CAI soon enough so what the heck. I popped one up and sure enough it was a pretty aggressive baffle built in. Looking at the design it definitely disrupts the airflow and possibly limits it somewhat, of course it seems very effective at cancelling the noise. I was about to take my dremel to it but I was somewhat time limited and figured that I can just line the inside of the intake pipe where the holes are with aluminum foil tape so the air would flow straight through. At the same time I removed the front/rear hood insulation weather strips, my hood insulation blanket was already off. Took it out for a spin and holy crap the supercharger whine/intake sound got wayyyy louder, I mean wow sounds awesome.. way louder than with just the diy 'code 3' mod that I did earlier. Throttle response might be a tad better too, but I won't really comment on that. I would be curious what the sound difference would be with no code 3 mod and just the sealed off baffles in terms of how much whine could be heard. Here are some pics for reference.

On a side note, I did my first oil change the other day.. to discover this POS oil filter in the asembly
.. any idea what filter this even is?
