...Did anyone sit in one of these (non-SRT version) during the Detroit Auto Show? I did, and I wasn't impressed. Much of the interior is done in light gray plastic that looks like it could have just as easily been used for making pots for houseplants or rubbermaid containers. There are parting lines, etc everywhere. It photographs well, but it just doesn't have a rich look or feel to it. But, my biggest gripe has to be the manual shifter. In rally car fashion, it juts out of the lower dash, and thus shifting is vertical (as opposed to horizontal). I might be okay with this, if my elbow didn't hit the center console when putting it into second or fourth. Sure, the SRT version packs something like 300 hp. But, none of that matters if it is not a joy to drive. And for me, a big part of driving fun has always been shifting my own gears.
