As much as I love my Crossfire, I truly think that club racing is not what DC had in mind when they commissioned the car. I believe they designed this car with more mind to the "cool factor" than anything else. They just happened to build this cool car on top of a very capable Mercedes rolling chassis. My guess is that their target demographic was the 40+ year old F.O.G. (Fast Old Guy. You know, the older I get, the faster I was.

)
I would be willing to wager that the enthusiast arm of the Crossfire Owners Group (Hmm... COG. Maybe I should register that) has taken DC by surprise. They were probably expecting to sell plenty of "lifestyle" accessories, but not too many go-fast parts. I don't know if it will be too-little-too-late now, but hopefully DC will open the doors to the corporate coffers and help subsidize a few things. Give me a reasonably-priced way to add about 50 HP (chip, cams, exhaust) and I'm all over it! I really love this car. Give me an excuse to love it all that much more.
