Default Re: Turbo-New ideas & input

I spent a lot of time looking into this before Corky got involved. If you do the right search you can find the Kleeman install manual, How they did the fuel and MAF is pretty simple. Brandon at Kleeman swears the same set up would work for a turbo.

I could not personally find any place for the turbo other than the cavity where the SRT resonator fits. There is not enough room for an isolated oil system and tank. I looked at the STS universal system and decided I could do better on my own and up with better components for less. There is good site you can see a whole rear mount turbo build which will teach you quite a bite. Search for rear mount junk yard turbo.

Oil lines will run up the drivers side and the charge pipe up under the passenger side. If you run an intercooler, look for one with the inlet and exit on the same side. From there go up and enter the engine compartment where the stock intake tube is. You don't have to run very big tubbing. I think the right size between 2 and 2.5" You can get oval tubing for under the car. As soon as you enter the engine compartment I would increase the tubing or modify a Needswings single intake. I would run boost of 5-8lbs. A nice BB turbo would reduce lag a bit, not that I think lag would be much of an issue. I think the Kleeman fueling systen is worth a shot and not expensive at all, but if you want to tune it all in the ECU, The Dyno-Comp's Ken Rudy can do it. Ken is the genious there who came from Renntech.

Well that was my plan... I now have another project in mind if someone will buy my car. If you want to go crazy insane fast, buy my car for a song and turbo it.
