Default Fixed oil leak, but gave up on wheel bearings...

My oil level sensor went out shortly after buying my car back in July. At first I thought I'd just pull the bulb for the warning light, but then found the sensor o-ring was leaking pretty bad. So, finally got the new sensor put in over the weekend. Over all I would say it was pretty easy. Didn't need to jack the car up, but did pull up on some 2x's for a little more room. So nice to drive without the light one.

Then, moved on to rear wheel bearings. My driver's side has just a little slop in it. It's not real bad, but I thought I'd get them both before they got worse. Well, the 2004 manual just says to remove the nut and remove the flange. Well, even with a hub puller I couldn't get it to budge. So, before I broke something I just put it back together. I later did some reading on a MB site about having to press the flange out of the hub. Guess I'm going to have to do some more homework, and figure out what needs to be done here. From what I've read on here and in the manual it sounded as though the axle would just push out of the splined flange, and then there was snap ring behind it, but maybe I misread that. The manual isn't always super clear about things. Plus, the 2004 manual was written for bolt in axles and my 2004 has slip in, but didn't think that would make a difference at the hub end.
