Default Re: Detail Doctor any one tried this

Years ago I had a 25ft Catalina sailboat that I was trying to sell, but over time the gel coat had begun to oxidize, leaving a surface finish that was OK, but sort of dull. I tried a few "snake oil" things that promised rene.wal of the gel coat finish, but what really seemed to work well for me, was Johnson's Clear floor polish. It wasn't perfect but looked great, and lasted long enuff, that I got extra $$$ from the sale. I'm not suggesting anyone use this, (if you do its at your risk), but it is an example of what modern chemistry can hide "temporarily". Emphasis on "temporarily". UV degradation is permanent, and can only be hidden. As far as I'm concerned, these products can promise everthing that WE want to hear, but come up short in most cases. Have fun .......
