They still have an amp, I am just not sure if it is the same amp. I wired my old base coupe with a new HU, 2 new amps, and ran all my interior speakers from 1 amp (75x4) and sub from a monoblock amp. I added another set of components in the spot where the factory subs would be with custom mounted tweeters for better imaging, it sounded great and kept up with the subs nicely in such a small cabin.
