Thanks to all for the courtesy extended to a newbie in audio and with the crossfire. I posted an earlier thread called "Dissappointe" where i spoke to buying a new head unit and hooking it up with the pre outs and getting lower volume than the stock unit. Everyone jumped in and explained an alternative hookup w/o the preaouts and hooking straight to the wires from the amp (speakers). After reading all of the posts I now get it!

But this raises a different question. I find that I really do not like the Alpine HU that i purchased and now am looking at the kenwood kdc-x796. One of the things I find attractive is that Keenwood had 4 Preamp Voltage whereas the Alpine has 2 Preamp Voltage, But the guy at Bestbuy told me hat this difference will only be recognized if I use the Preouts. But if I wire the HU w/o the pre outs and wired it directly then the Preamp voltage will not matter. Is this correct?

Lastly, I am now considering other headunits that have bluetooth and HD capability. I really want something good and I am open for suggestions.
