The MOT test came out when I was there, back in the dark ages, and some wonderful cars went to the scrap yard.[/

I was also around in the dark days (early 60's) and the start of the MOT test, althought it was certainly not as thorough as todays.

I had an early Humber Hawk, a big old slow reving engine, with bench seat, loads of wood (dash) and column change... I loved it , but sadly it was an MOT failure, as was my later Ford Y 1934. with cable brakes...those were the days?..maybe
