[QUOTE=Uk Pete;729105]Odd occurrence yesterday. I drove about half a mile to the supermarket. After shopping and trying to start the car the engine turned over but wouldn't start. What was odd is that I swear a couple of times the starter motor continued to turn the engine over even when I'd let go of the key!
It started after about 4 or 5 attempts but the engine light stayed on. I drove it home the half a mile and all seemed well. It didn't seem to go in to 'limp' mode or anything. I tried starting it about an hour later and all seemed normal and the engine light went out as normal once started.
I've been out this morning and it started first time in -1 temperatures and I took it for a 15 minute drive around...no problems at all.
Should the gear select lever (auto) move when the car is not running? I thought it did but mine won't move out of park whilst the engine is not running. All seems normal when running.
Can anyone enlighten me on this oddity?
Cheers,
weard one Pete! I have not heard of this before. Maybe just one of those things!! I would think as the engine managment light has gone out by its self, all is well. I did have the light come on on the n/a Crossfire once and it went out by its self but had no starting problem related to it! and its been fine since.
