just back from having the diagnostic on my car and the problem is indeed the CPS. They are ordering one for me today (Bosch) and fitting it tomorrow. Very helpful garage and even gave me a lift home and offered to pick me up tomorrow for collection. The part is £65 and 30 minutes labour so not too bad. Got my road tax at the end of the month though... Gulp!!!
