I had my K&N filter installed about 5 months.
It absolutely does not affect the exhaust sound.
It suppose to increase the about 5-10hp of engine horsepower.

I had a sponge air intake on my last car, it do sounds different when you accelerate.
If you only replace the air filter in the air box, it won't make so much different
