I have a new battery in my 2005 Roadstar. After several days the battery is dead. I took off the negative terminal and slow charged the battery for a couple of hours. It started and ran fine all day. When I pulled off the terminal there was a load and spack when the car was off for 10 minutes. Can you help. Yellow Shore
The car is known for issue with heater blower fan and the dreaded trunk light. NOT to say this is the case here. Battery's straight off the shelf can be bad. Throw a charge on it and it's fine for a few hours, but cells are bad internal and charge is minimum and whey it's depleted beyond it's hold ability ...it don't hold crank voltage. Most battery places will test your charging system FREE. But if you want to check it yourself, start the car (jump or charger)....at idle, remove the positive cable off the battery this will force the car to run on alternator. CAR SHOULD STILL RUN....the alternator is what charges/recharges the battery under normal load. If the alternator isn't recharging there is the problem. If the car continues to run....take the battery back to place of purchase. Get a new one, like I say, even a new one can be bad straight from the manufacturer...
