Default CF Fabric A-Pillars (and soon headliner)

So about a year ago -- my headliner fell and I tried reupholstering. I did virtually no prep-work and was rushed on the fabric adhesion. It fell again. Understandable.

I decided, finally, to try again with carbon fiber fabric this time.

3M 77 was not good enough for the Arkansas heat... so this time I decided to try 3M Headliner fabric. It just does not come out thick enough to satisfy me. In addition -- my CF fabric is INCREDIBLY thin with no foam backing.. so every bump, imperfection, wrinkle -- is glaringly obvious.

I prepped the headliner -- took 3 bottles of Goof-Off and scraping with razorblades + sanding to get smooth"ish".

Started in the center with 3M headliner -- but after 10 minutes to tack and stretching as LITTLE as possible, even the center spine fabric was peeling away almost immediately.

Anyway -- I had really great results with DAP weldwood contact cement on the pillars.. so I went and got a pint of it to use on the headliner. I think the thicker consistency will benefit me with better coverage and maybe even be more forgiving with small bumps and blemishes.

Here's a shot of the pillars.
