Default Re: UPsolute Chip Tuning Crossfire Group Buy!

Ditto here. If Upsolute used a dyno to develop the program then there's a copy of the trace somewhere. So in my mind its very simple. Show me before and after runs on either the Crossfire or the SLK 320. If HP/Torque curves match up with my style of driving, you will have made a sale.

One problem I have with aftermarket mods like this is that the claimed horsepower gain is usually not in an RPM range that one normally operates the car (i.e. just shy of redline) and therefore is essentially useless. For example: In a former life I did before/after runs of a "performance" exhaust system. I was able to substantiate the manufacturer's claim of a 15 HP gain, but that gain occurred 200 RPM shy of redline, and there was a 13 HP LOSS in the midrange! They kinda forgot to mention that.

I'm not implying that this is what Upsolute is doing but a little transparency goes a long way. If there are trade secret issues, fine. I'll sign a non-disclosure agreement. But the bottom line for me is no dyno runs, no sale.

For an example of what I'm talking about, take a look at this link from Jackson Racing, who made the supercharger kit for my dearly departed Prelude. That plot was a major influence in my decision to buy.
