When you remove the drive assembly (the black base plate with the armatures attached) you'll see the wing motor and you'll see two limit switches... an upper, and a lower. When the wing reaches its top position, it will strike the upper limit switch, stopping the motor. Same for the lower (that's how the wing knows to "stop" when you're lowering it).
I'm asking the folks at Webasto for specs on the drive assembly... they're one of my suppliers for Nissan.
