Emergency is over .... AAA towed him to a Goodyear Tire store in Peru, Ill, last nite, and he was able to get a motel room in Peru for the nite. This morning Goodyear was able to find him a used 245/40/18 tire and mounted it on his unbelieveably undamaged SRT rim. So he's on his way home to SW Missouri.
I did get a call from a member (un-named at this point) that lives in a SW suburb of Chicago, who had a good N/A rim that he was willing to drive the 60 miles to bring it to him, in case his rim was damaged.
Getting a tire is not as bad a problem as finding a compatible rim.
