Re: should I buy a convertible?
[QUOTE=ed davis;742028]I am looking to buy a "fun car".. A well preserved X-fire will fit the bill of fun car for not a lot of money. I'd suggest stay away from a dealer unless you have to, since they will at the very least be at a premium. Vert, Coupe or Srt?...Depends on what you drive. I was looking for a nice riding cruiser, since i have a 150km round trip to work. Also, i don't live in a big city, nor have the consistent weather to justify a ragtop, and the Srt while it's a missile; my understanding is the ride has been sacrificed, for performance. So for me, it's the 6 spd Coupe, cuz I do like rowing the gears. Rides like a dream, corners flat, and is quiet down the highway even with the windows down. I'd suggest you look for a low mileage unit that has been pampered, and you shouldn't have to spend more than 10grand.ish. When you read the posts here, you'll see most of us have had many different cars, some of which we should have kept, but the overall opinion is the x-fire is an awesome car.
Good luck in your search, try not to make a rush purchase.
