Ok updating with info..

It only appears to happen in first gear and it doesn't have to be a hot day necessarily, just a lot of moisture in the air. I don't really know how else to describe it other than the clutch feels like it's not gripping properly.

No, I don't drive with my foot on the clutch. No idea about the person that had the car before me (was 32k on the car before I got it, I've only put about 20k on it.)
