My Akebono pads squealed when I got the car, I took them off, wire brushed the backs, cleaned off the rust on the supports, put brake anti squeal grease on the piston contact area, brake grease on the supports. Reinstalled there was no squeal, job done without the cost of new pads.
Squeal is vibration due to insufficient pad support generally.
I've done that before with no change, but I guess I'll try one more time... Thanks for the reply!
