On a side note I'm a professional nerd but don't really have any experience with car programming. That being said if there is some technical stuff I could help with I would be more than happy to take a look for the good of the cause. Definitely looks like you got all the help needed but again if you would like even another set of eyes I'm willing.
Thanks for keeping at it!
No problem! I'm wanting to not only document my process but keep people informed of what the job requires. It's a PITA lol. Like I said though, it's a matter of time. It'll be one of those "why didn't I think of that before" kind of things lol.
You know honestly any help is appreciated. If someone can figure out what SMD (Surface mount device) the clutch switch runs to inside the ECU I think that would be helpful. The immo is not proving to be the problem, or at least not the entire problem.
Since the car starts and runs (like crap) with the V6 ECU I figured why not swap the immo so that it thinks it is still the V6... Didn't work. I tried unlocking and playing around in Developer with no luck as well.
There has to be a difference in the way each car starts (obviously) that we can't figure out. I automatically assumed that the immobilizer would be the problem, but maybe it's a SKREEM to ECU adaptation that needs to take place. Or it's just the damn clutch recognition.
I'm getting to the point where I wan't to take the extra chips controlling the coils and injectors and put them on the V6 board. Then get the mapping from the flash on the V8 and write it to the flash on the V6, or just swap the flash... The problem is what else would be affected or if it realizes the tampering and won't play ball.
