I don't know what the two pegs in the cargo area were originally intended to do, but I found the cargo net that supposed to go between the seats of my wife's Caravan hangs very nicely from them and keeps all the little stuff I tend to carry in the trunk neatly stowed.
As for the lack of a cruise control indication, with the drive by wire system it would always be on. The computer is always in control of the throttle and your foot pedal is just one input.
