rayth,
The benefits associated with this upgrade for the NA are perhaps less tangible than for the SRT6, I have, however, been asked numerous times about doing a billet aluminum pulley set for the NA crossfire that includes underdrive pulleys. I would be open to this, but I would need to get a commitment for 10 sets as that is generally the minimum I have to buy of any custom pulley in order to get a reasonable price (and then in turn provide a kit a great price). I would need to find someone local who has a NA that I could use for measurements, etc .... all doable .

Not sure which accessories would be practical to underdrive on the NA. Some underdrive kits reduce the size of the drive pulley (crank pulley) in order to slow everything down a bit (!5% is a common reduction) .... I probably would NOT be interested in going that route. The other choice is to increase the size of the DRIVEN pulleys (alternator, waterpump, etc) This I would consider on a pulley by pulley basis. The Alternator is easy and doing so has the added advantage of increasing belt contact on this slip-prone parasite. Air-conditioning pump wont happen (by me) and powersteering is often sized (on other models I've looked at) such that there is NO room for a larger pulley. Waterpump pulley ... perhaps. The pulleys in the kit ( including tensioner pulley, idler, etc) would be lighter and more than likely less expensive than the Mercedes parts they replace.

On a side note, some years ago, interested in evosport's impressive (sounding) line of products, I set up a dealer account with Evosport . I had them ship me some of their "under-drive pulleys" that they offered for the SRT-6 .... and upon receipt (and measurement) discovered they were dimensionally identical to the factory pulleys .... In other words NO UNDERDRIVE WHATSOEVER. I quickly called and asked them how they could call these underdrive pulleys and was told "it is because they are lighter" WTF !! Not sure if they believed that or if they thought the public would .... In any case, I returned the pulleys and ended my relationship with Evosport immediately. Having never seen the NA underdrive pulleys supplied by Evosport, I can only hope that they are ACTUALLY what they claimed they were .... but at this point little would surprise me.

I hesitate to go off topic here, but while some vendors come and go (and sometimes with a lot of member money) . I cant say enough good things about Rob and his business Needswings. Always great products and great customer service. He has been a great friend to this community for a long time.

Cheers,
Chris
And this is why you are very, very respected on this forum. No BS, just facts.
