Left to right :
Honda Scrambler : too heavy and underpowered to compete.
Honda CB305 Super Hawk : They finally got it right with this baby.
Honda Dream : appropriate name ; the designer was having a nightmare when he thought of this one.

I was Triumph/BSA guy at the time ; 1962 Bonneville, 1963 TR6, 1963 Thunderbird, 1964 Bonneville, 1964 BSA Gold Star, 1966 BSA 650 - can't remember the model.
The '62 Bonneville was pre-unit construction ( separate engine and tranny ) and was magneto ignition - another nightmare.....
The nicest bike I bought during that period was the first year Honda CB750 - I'd have to say that was probably the first Japanese 'super bike'.
