Since you posted on the roadster forum, I'k gonna assume this is a roadster.
Cycle the top until it is a position where the top is down, but the cover is still open.
You have about 20 minutes to reach around inside and reach the bulb sockets in the tail lights
before the hydraulic timer expires and cover starts down.
You can. of course, prop it open with a broomstick or something.
