My old GTV6 also took 8 quarts of 20-50 and every time I took it in for an oil change, the mechanics would think I was nuts for telling them it took that much. BTW the motor was a smaller 2.5 v6, but it had over 200k miles on it and it still ran like a dream (till it ran into a truck).
