Default Re: 50 amp Radiator Fan fuse??

Low coolant light came on. Was out of town (my wife thinks the xfire is her car and didn't want to leave her hanging so I found a mechnic shop with a guy with "12 years of mercedes experience" - she took it there. After 3 days they wanted at least 300$ to remove the instrument cluster as they attributed the light to a mouse nest and chewing. I to them no and picked it up when I got home.

Read your thread - checked fan for operation - none. Checked voltage at 50am fan fuse- goofy. Took it out and checked ohms resistance - blown. Bought one from a car audio shop for 5 bucks and everthing is good as new. Mercedes and Chrysler dealers didn't have this fuse. I think it may have blown because it wasn't installed properly (on top of buss bar). Fan works fine. Thanks

BTW my Mercedes "expert" told me that the fan was working fine. How this could be with an open circuit is beyond me. He checked the sensors of the coolant reserviour and washer reserviour and now my washer reserviour leaks. Trying to get my 88 bucks back for their excellent trouble shooting. We'll see.
