Problem Child
I owned my crossfire for almost 2 years and there is 23K miles. I've had the following problems and would like to know if anybody else is experiencing this.
Transmission repaired - Popped out of first gear - Fixed
Rear end noise - Replaced
Internal engine noise (bearings) - Replaced engine - Fixed
Radio display on channel 4 usually doesn't change - Radio on order
Drivers seat heater dead - On order
Hatch back is rubbing paint off where rubber bumpers are on both sides and hatch back is denting bumper - realigned hatch back and being repainted
Right rear tire bead split - Replaced
After the engine was replaced I noticed an intermittent surge just after shifting into 3, 4 or 6th gear. I almost never use fifth. I find that it never shows up if your accelerating hard, which most of the time I am. I only notice this if I was depressing the accelerator like it had an egg under my foot. The surge is very faint and extremely intermittent. The dealer can't duplicate it nor have I've been able to recreated when I want. I'm extremely concern and I'm in the being discussion about the car being a lemon. I've very cautious about saying lemon since I'm a computer technician and I hear it all the time when anybody has a problem.
I was also told that there is a new TSB about the engine failures. Chrysler has determined that you have to replace the housing along with the oil filter everytime you change the oil filter. I've never heard of this before. They also told me that this is standard with Mercedes Benz. Since, I had 3 free oil changes and I'm on the last freebie, I haven't had to change my oil. Doesn't anybody no what the housing is?
I'm curious if anybody else has had this many problems?
